I just recently began using revit, "converting" from ADT. I'g having a diifcult fourth dimension trying to figure out how to create framing plans though. Even for a uncomplicated habitation addition, there doesn't seem to exist any way to create floor and roof framing plans. I fifty-fifty reverted back to some AutoCAD ways (gasp!) and started just drawing them as lines over the plans, only at present they show up on the floor plans. Is there a decent mode to make this work?

Which version are you using? I believe in vi.0 they have a structural blueprint option....

Yous tin model up the framing using the structural tab, then using structural columns and beams layout your framing. Although, i find this to be a little over the top. I unremarkably just show indicative framework (all depends on how many views your talking near as to what the all-time choice would be). As for the ACAD import showing up in all floor plans, when you import brand sure you tick <electric current view only> otherwise revit imports the dwg as model lines instead of drafting lines. Regards, Chris.

You must "frame" the add-on. Sounds simple until you put all those 2x 'southward in. In 6.1, yous have to think similar a structural engineer, so that the framing members to hold upwardly the first flooring will be fatigued on the first floor - BUT actually will be Under the floor (and so a reflected ceiling plan of the basement will show the 2x'due south. And then, you must either edit the families to modify them to be the view range you lot need - non recommended for a new Reviteer - or think like an engineer. You can frame information technology, and information technology does await good, just pay attending....

IF YOU REVERT TO THE 2 DAY WAY, INORDER TO GET THEM NOT SHOW UP ON YOUR FLOOR PLANS IS TO Plow OF THAT LINETYPE IN VV. Merely IF You lot USED IT FOR SOMETHING ELSE THAT YOU MAY NEED Yous Volition Plough THAT OFF Every bit WELL. TO Avoid THIS MAKE A NEW LINE TYPE JUST FOR YOUR FRAMING LINES AND THEN WHEN THEY ARE TURNED OFF, ONLY THEY WILL DISAPPEAR YOU Will Have TO Plow THEM OFF IN EVERY VIEW SINCE Information technology IS ALL VIEW DEPENDENT.
